Synopsis:
“Tom’s Story” is a 2D-animated short film about a young boy called Tom, who has severe autism. Tom struggles with making new friends and understanding the big, wide world around him. This film follows Tom’s journey as he learns how differences are truly what make us all special...

This film is my first as a writer and director, and was also a project for my university degree. The story is inspired by my relationship with my brother, who is on the autistic spectrum.

'Tom's Story' has been shown in schools around the UK to help raise awareness for autism. I also worked closely with the Brainwave charity on this film; a charity that I have been an ambassador of for several years.

The film has also been shown at several film festivals, including:
-
Filmed Up!, Manchester, United Kingdom (22nd September 2017)
-
AnimaSyros International Animation Festival, Syros, Greece (1st October 2017)
-
AutFest Texas: Autism Film Festival & Casino Party, Austin, TX, United States (12th November 2017)
-
Animae Caribe, Arima, Trinidad and Tobago (23rd November 2017)
